BalletNova Artistic Director Nancie Woods is presenting her re-staging of Tchaikovsky’s classical favorite, “Swan Lake – Act II”.

BNCD faculty member (and former Martha Graham company dancer) Constance Walsh has choreographed a new work, “Notes on Spring” in the contemporary ballet genre. Set to the Holberg Suites, this work is an ode to the joy and innocence of youth. Walsh explores complex floor patterns and vibrant movement motifs to illuminate the excitement and anticipation of being young. A tender duet reflects upon the beauty of a first love.

Also on the program is a performance by GinDance directed by Shu-Chen Cuff. GinDance was founded in 2011, and will perform Ms. Cuff’s work “The Core.” This modern dance work is infused with Eastern philosophy and movement reflective of Cuff’s rich Asian dance heritage. “The Core” explores through dance the interconnectivity between all things in the universe- inner strength, emotion, and energy.
